Each design in this collection is a stunning work of art, exuding heart and optimism and bringing your space to life—much of which stems from our lived experience and overarching message. Babakech Rugs was founded to share our passion and love for Moroccan rugs from the High Atlas Mountains with the rest of the world. We believe that these rugs hold Moroccan culture, Berber values, and the stories of the female artisans. What we discovered is that the more you see different things, taste different foods, and see different colors, textures, cultures, and languages, the more you understand and start seeing each other—the humanity of it all. To prevent this traditional art from vanishing, we figured it would be best to bring forth a new concept of rugs that combines together both modern and old-fashioned styles, in order to bring uniqueness and premium quality to people's homes.

In fact, the collection was inspired by our Berber setting and evolved into a theme of traditional meeting contemporary. What we wanted to do was combine two ideas: our traditionally made Moroccan rugs and the contemporary art movement.
