Contemporary Amazigh rugs are still being made using the very same old traditional methods, yet with modern design or a combination between traditional and modern. They have been evolving since they got recognized by interior designers worldwide.
The modern industrialized Amazigh rug is similar to the traditional handmade Amazigh rug, except that the former have a loop pile creation. Contemporary Amazigh rugs are generally made of color palettes that look like the usual undyed color palettes, which is very basic. They also have no Amazigh designs and patterns. They are popular in high traffic areas, yet they are fairly lasting.
Moroccan contemporary Amazigh rugs are still to this day manufactured with the same antiquated processes, but with a contemporary design or a mix of traditional and contemporary designs. They have been developing since they were discovered by design professionals all across the world.
