Each round rug is one-of-a-kind. They're all inspired by, or handmade from, textiles woven by our artisan cooperatives. Contrary to popular belief, round rugs don’t start off round. They're first handwoven the traditional way—on rectangular looms—just like any classic rug, and only then are they carefully shaped into a perfect circular rug.
Moroccan rugs come in every shape, size, and color imaginable, so of course, round rugs have finally earned their place in our growing collection. We work with expert artisans using a wide range of techniques, from traditional hand knotting to the innovative methods that make round rugs possible. Our vast library of traditional & contemporary designs consists of styles from both our in-house designs and renowned Berber classics. When you select your beautifully handmade round Moroccan rug from our collection, you actively support rural artisans and help ensure the continuation of their craft. Your purchase goes beyond aesthetics; it’s a commitment to sustaining a treasured cultural practice and empowering local communities.
Round rugs are a rare find compared to their more common rectangular cousins. So when we came across these beautifully made round rugs, we had to make sure to learn everything about them and eventually start making our own. Circle rugs are a natural match for round tables and a stylish pick if you're drawn to their unique charm. They create beautiful contrast when paired with rectangular or square furniture, and they also shine in spaces with curved details like arched doorways or circular decor. Unlike what many assume, round rugs aren't woven in a circular shape from the start. Instead, they are first handwoven on traditional looms just like any rectangular rug, using natural wool sourced locally and dyed with either natural or non-toxic synthetic dyes. Once the rug is fully woven and washed, it’s carefully cut into a round shape by skilled artisans who ensure the design still flows harmoniously in its new form. The edges are then bound by hand to maintain durability and a clean finish. This transformation from rectangle to circle allows us to create unique round rugs without compromising the rich textures, traditional motifs, and craftsmanship that Moroccan rugs are known for. The result is a one-of-a-kind round Moroccan rug that carries all the authenticity of a classic piece with a playful and contemporary twist.
When styling a round rug, the key rule is the same as with any rug shape: measure your space and your rug to ensure a balanced layout. Ideally, the rug should sit comfortably in the room with a bit of breathing room between it and the walls. In living areas, a round Moroccan rug works best when at least a few pieces of furniture (like the edge of your sofa or chairs) are slightly overlapping the rug—it helps visually anchor the seating area. These rugs also shine in transitional spaces like reading corners, entryways, or by a sunny window.
One of our favorite ways to use round rugs is under a round dining table, where the curves mirror each other perfectly. Just make sure the rug extends 2 to 3 feet beyond the table’s edges so chairs remain on the rug even when pulled out.
Round rugs are also a fun choice for playrooms, thanks to their soft, circular shape that naturally adds a sense of movement and whimsy to the space. In smaller bedrooms or under a twin bed, a round rug can sit partially beneath the frame and fan out like a crescent moon—cozy and stylish.
Rugs aren't just something to walk on; they often become a cozy gathering space, especially in homes with adults or families. Whether you're playing a board game, meditating, or sharing snacks, a high-pile round rug adds a warm, cushioned surface that's inviting both for your feet and for sitting.
If you work from home or spend a lot of time in a rolling office chair, whether gaming or just browsing, a round Moroccan rug can help shield your floors.
Chair wheels can wear down surfaces over time, leaving behind scratches or grooves. Placing a circular rug underneath can absorb much of that impact, helping to prevent long-term damage.
For the best experience, go for a low or medium-pile rug so your chair can roll smoothly without getting tangled in the fibers.
While hard floors are practical and easy to clean, they can't compete with the comfort of a soft rug when you step out of bed. A round rug is the perfect spot for your slippers—or your pet, who might wait there for you to wake up.
The visual contrast between a rectangular bed and a small circular rug feels fresh and modern. Round rugs also fit nicely under nightstands, either on one side or both, making them a stylish and functional addition to any bedroom.
